| Preferred Qualifications | The preferred candidate would have strong management and supervisory skills. The incumbent in this position should have an understanding of the Public Health Law as it relates to Vital Records; possess excellent oral and written communication skills; have experience reviewing and commenting on the affects of proposed legislation on program operations; have experience making presentations using Power Point or other audio visual software; possess excellent interpersonal skills; and have the ability to handle multiple priority tasks simultaneously. |
| Responsibilities | The Bureau of Production Systems Management (BPSM) is responsible for the complete, accurate and timely filing of certificates of birth, death, marriage and dissolution of marriage and for the secure issuance of copies of certificates to authorized persons. The incumbent of this position will assist the Bureau Director with the daily management of the Bureau. This involves all aspects of Bureau operations including but not limited to supervision, coordination, training and optimization of resources; liaison to Department executive staff and program managers, to state and federal agency representatives and to the public; active participation in national organizations; administration of federal contracts and grants; presentations at local, State and national meetings; and manage the operations of the Adoption Information Registry. The incumbent will directly supervise the section heads of BPSM's two main sections: the Vital Records Registration and Field Services Section (RFS) and the Request Processing Services Section (RPS). |
