| Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or related filed and one year of related research experience in that field. Thirty (30) credit hours leading to an advanced degree in an appropriate field may be substituted for the required experience. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or related field with three years of clinical lab experience, preferably conducting enzyme-linked immunoassays or experience with tandem mass spectrometry. A background in quality control and statistical analysis of biological specimens is also desirable. |
| Responsibilities | The incumbent will perform analysis for several different conditions in the Newborn Screening Laboratory. The assays will be performed on newborn specimens with an annual volume of approximately 300,000. |
| Conditions of Employment | Permanent, full-time, non-competitive. since exposure to potentially hazardous substances is involved, the candidate will be required to wear personal protective clothing and equipment, and may undergo health evaluations and receive specific immunizations. Licensure as a New York State Certified Laboratory technician or technologist may be required. |
