| Minimum Qualifications | Current Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator 1, G-23 (HPA1); OR a NYS employee with one year permanent or contingent-permanent service as a HPA1, G-23; OR a NYS employee with one year permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service in a G-21 or higher title eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 or Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. |
| Preferred Qualifications | The preferred candidate will have experience with RFA/RFP development and report writing in the field of public health programs and research; experience with advisory boards/councils; excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills with the ability to function independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities; excellent interpersonal skills and experience with computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, and HTML. |
| Responsibilities | The incumbent will perform contract-related activities including the interpretation and application of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policy and requirements associated with the NYS Spinal Cord Injury Research Boards initiative, and serve as the program liaison to outside organizations and agencies and contractors regarding program issues, serve as a program liaison to Center and department staff and workgroups including the Fiscal Management Group and Division of Legal Affairs, and board members regarding program issues. The incumbent will provide primary oversight of the Spinal cord Injury Research Board's scientific peer review contractor. In addition, the incumbent would provide general administrative support and supervise subordinate staff. |
| Conditions of Employment | Contingent-permanent, full-time appointment. Infrequent, overnight travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation may be required. Preferred work hours are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. |
