| Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree including 30 credits in accounting and five years of post- bachelor's degree professional accounting/auditing experience in a health care setting including (A) three years of experience in the preparation of skilled nursing home cost reports and reimbursement and (B) two years of supervisory experience in a health care fiscal office. |
| Preferred Qualifications | MBA/MS in Accounting or Finance and/or CPA licensure. Five years experience as a Finance Director or Reimbursement manager of a Skilled Nursing Facility. |
| Responsibilities | Under the direction of the Institutional Finance Director, the Veterans Homes Finance Officer will manage a centralized billing, financial and reimbursement operation for all Veterans Nursing homes operated by the Department of Health. The position is responsible for supervising a billing and collection staff as well as reimbursement accounting and budgeting functions. Strong account receivable management is necessary to maintain and maximize cash flow for facility operations. A key responsibility will be the ongoing review of reimbursement rates and the formulation of appeals for rate adjustments where applicable. |
