Eat Well Play Hard in Child Care Settings Initiative

What does this initiative provide?

This initiative provides nutrition education, obesity prevention and physical activity interventions to pre-school children, their parents and their caregivers. A curriculum was developed by CACFP to support this initiative.

Who does this initiative reach?

This intervention will reach the pre-school children and their parents, and child care center staff at 210 low-income child care centers (36 counties) by year three.

How is this initiative evaluated?

Success will be measured by evaluating eating and activity behavior changes among participating pre-school children as reported by their parents. Practice changes made at participating child care centers will also be evaluated.
