LISTSERV

LISTSERV is an e-mail based distribution mechanism used by the Department of Health.

LISTSERV acts as a distribution list for e-mail. You can send an e-mail message to a list controlled by LISTSERV and the e-mail message will be automatically forwarded to all subscribers on that list.

For more general information about LISTSERV, send an e-mail message to: listserv@health.state.ny.us with the word "HELP" in the body of the message. Information about LISTSERV will be e-mailed back to you. LISTSERV instructions, indexes of information available on LISTSERV, and the information itself can be requested in this manner. Other information can be requested by embedding LISTSERV commands in the body of an e-mail message which is then sent to LISTSERV.

SPARCS-L

A specific mailing list has been set up on Department of Health's LISTSERV to provide information on SPARCS issues. This LISTSERV is called: SPARCS-L. (The previous listserv was called UDS-L). The SPARCS-L will provide a quick and convenient way to receive updated information and to ask questions regarding the submission of SPARCS data at their facility. It also enables the Department to provide newsworthy information on the National Uniform Bill Committee (NUBC) regarding new data elements and definitions, and the ANSI X12-837 format specifications. All interested parties are invited to participate by sending an e-mail message to: listserv@health.state.ny.us. The body of the note should contain the command subscribe sparcs-l followed by your first and last name.
